Walks and excursions in Mont-blanc countryWalks This paradise for walkers and hikers of all levels offers a great variety of itineraries.It is a important to take a detailed map (3630 OT) with you to familiarise yourself with the route. The weather can be changeable in the mountains so remember to have warm clothing as well as suitable gear for wet weather. Take a torchin your backpack. Please respect the environment and take your rubbish with you when you go back down. Although the refuge Loriaz isn't in a nature reserve, we recommend keeping your dog on a lead to avoid frightening animals.Only bivouacking is allowed in the mountains but beware cows are curious! Don't be surprised if they come a bit too close to your camp at night for a visit …! Ask the wardens about the snow conditions or at Chamonix Walking and Mountaineering Office and take appropriate equipment! Some routes starting from the Loriaz Refuge Buet summit (3099m) can be reached in 6 hours from the refuge Loriaz, via the col de la Terrasse, le Cheval blanc. Return via the refuge Bérard (1924 m) in 3 hours. There's a balcony path which joins the col du Passet (1940 m) 1hr 30 with difficult passages equipped with hand rails, restaurant Emosson (1960 m) 20 min (parking, bus, funiculaire).
